Wellness classes

We offer wellness classes for people living with chronic illness and long term health conditions. The classes combine slow movement, supported by the breath, with luxurious restorative Yoga.

Classes are held on Monday's 11.30am - 12.45pm at the Contemporary Yoga Centre in Remuera.

Participants are welcome to bring along a family member or support person. Classes are free to attend.

About the Wellbeing Collective

In 2020 friends at Contemporary Yoga created the Wellbeing Collective as an extension and umbrella for our Wellness classes. The initial phase is to support existing Wellness classes offered at no charge for members of the community living with cancer, chronic illness or mental health.

These classes are held weekly at our Centre in Remuera. As we grow the programme we intend to provide specific Wellbeing and Wellness trainings, offering scholarships for these and other trainings including ongoing mentoring and support. A part of our mission is is to provide employment opportunities within the wellbeing and mental health sector for our skilled teachers.

Ultimately we are creating a diverse team of heart centred and professional teachers and educators to provide accessible, ongoing and sustainable care of our community throughout Auckland and New Zealand.

We are a team of experienced and dedicated teachers who are passionate about creating a nourishing, inclusive and supportive environment for our weekly classes.

Online classes with Sandra Palmer

Sandra Palmer is a registered Psychologist and ceritified Yoga, and iRest(R) Teacher. Informed by her own wellness and cancer journey Sandra has developed Embodied Yoga for Cancer online classes and in person day retreats. Contemporary Yoga can highly recommend Sandra's offerings.
